1) Feeding an ostrich named Zea. Also cleaning up her poop. In the cold. I cannot express how thrilled I am.

2) Studying like a maniac for final exams next week. As long as I keep doing as poorly as I have been doing, it’s going to be C for Continue in no time flat!

3) Learning how to leave my puppers alone in the evening when I have things I need to do.

4) Scheduling a visit for my parents to come up here and buy some property… yay!

feeling better

I thought I would report that yesterday I hit one of my highs again. Where probably nothing can phase me and I’m taking everything in stride because I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and my brain is madly plotting about how best to dodge the death lasers and shark tank and toxic bone-eating acid ooze dripping from the ceiling. I can smell Christmas vacation. I can already taste Thanksgiving break. I know they’re there, both of them, waiting for me, tanalizing me, giving me hope that if maybe, just maybe, if I close my eyes the madness will stop spinning around me and I will be able to leap into freedom for a month.

Tuesday was a good day for me. I was productive, in both my personal responsibilities and my academic ones. I forgot how much I love to get everything really clean. I washed the dog, I scoured the bathroom, I vacuumed my bedroom, I discovered Febreze “Noticeables.” I love those things. My room doesn’t smell like an oppressive den of a semester’s worth of festering, it doesn’t smell like wet dog, or dry musty dog for that matter. It makes it slightly less horrible to be trapped in here all the time now. Barriers I probably put up myself but prevent me from lashing out and going on a stabbing rampage. I also got quite a bit of my reviewing done for my Immunology test on Friday, which is nice, because most certainly this is going to be a tricky test. Just gotta keep everything straight - A Coggins’ is a type of AGID, which is a type of diffusion assay, which tests for Ag or Ab? I can’t remember.

Also, because my library portion of my Correlates final took less than 1 minute yesterday, I was able to take Beau to the park, where I chatted with some of my friends from school. I love the park. Beau loves the park. It was a beautiful evening and he actually played with his favorite boxer, Cash, and I met a classmate’s nice dogs Domino and Cocoa. I knew Beau would like the special treat of getting to go the park since we go so infrequently now (Damn you daylight savings!). On Monday night he actually barked at me for the first time in his life - he was frustrated and wanted to play and he actualy vocalized instead of just sitting there sadly. I shouldn’t reward him for such behavior, but I couldn’t help laugh at him. Thank God I have him to help me get through the day, he really is my little watch-dog.

Hopefully today will be as good as yesterday, but I did pass the Productivity Baton to Rob, so we’ll see how that goes.
